No, it is a single-use device that should be replaced at least every 24 hours, or immediately if soiled with blood,
feces, or semen.

The label on the PureWick Urine Collection System says the product contains lead. What part of the device contains lead?
The power cord is the part of the device that contains lead. The lead is contained in the interior wiring of the
power cord.
How often do you need to replace the canister and tubing?
Replace the canister and tubing according to the PureWick Urine Collection System User Guide. Canister and
tubing to be replaced every 60 days or per facility protocol, whichever is sooner.
Is the PureWick Male External Catheter made with latex?
No, the PureWick Male External Catheter is not made with natural rubber latex.
How do you test the suction of the PureWick Urine Collection System?
Remove the PureWick Male External Catheter from the collector tubing and place the open end of the collector tubing into a container of water. If the PureWick Urine Collection System suctions 500 mL or more of water in a 20 second period, then the system is suctioning properly. If the system is not suctioning properly, please refer to the PureWick Urine Collection System user guide for troubleshooting steps.
How often should the accessories and PureWick Urine Collection System be cleaned?
The accessories and the PureWick Urine Collection System should be cleaned and disinfected daily. Detailed
instructions on cleaning and disinfection are outlined in the PureWick Urine Collection System User Guide.
Can users wear underwear?
As long as the material does not block the vents on the front of the device or does not allow for sufficient airflow
through the device. Avoid wearing tight clothing or briefs.
Why does pubic hair need to be trimmed before using the device?
Pubic hair should be trimmed or clipped to ensure the device securely adheres to the skin and provides a full seal.
What are additional items needed for application?
You might need hair trimmers or clippers, soap or water wipes, and a drying towel.
