FAQ
About Prodigy Blood Glucose Strips
Get quick and reliable blood glucose readings with PRODIGY No Coding Blood Glucose Test Strips. These glucose test strips are intended for the quantitative measurement of glucose (sugar) in fresh capillary whole blood samples. Compatible with all Prodigy Blood Glucose Monitoring Systems such as Prodigy AutoCode, Prodigy Pocket, Prodigy Voice, and Prodigy Preferred.
Prodigy No Coding blood glucose test strips are ideal for individuals with diabetes who use a glucose monitoring system to help manage their diabetes, thus making these strips important components of glucose meters. The capillary action automatically draws the blood sample into the test strip. The Prodigy Blood Glucose Test Strips do not use GDH-PQQ technology and are approved for alternate site testing. Prodigy’s glucose oxidase technology allows for safer and more accurate results.
No matter the type of diabetes you or your loved one has, make sure you include Prodigy Blood Glucose Test Strips in your supply kit. Check out our other recommended items to add to your diabetes care kit.
Prodigy Blood Glucose Strips FAQ’s
How do these test strips work?
PRODIGY No Coding test strips provide a quantitative measurement of glucose in whole blood from the fingertip, palm, forearm, upper arm, calf or thigh. The blood is drawn into the absorbent channel of the test strip through capillary action, and the blood glucose level is measured by the meter. Results are displayed on the PRODIGY blood glucose meter. Only 0.7 μL of blood is required and the reaction time is 7 seconds.
What does “no coding” mean?
No coding means that the meter is already calibrated, and no code is required to be entered for a new pack of testing strips.
When should I use PRODIGY No Coding test strips to test blood sugar?
Your health care provider will let you know how often to check your blood sugar levels. The frequency of testing usually depends on the type of diabetes you have and your treatment plan.
Some suggested times are as follows:
- Before meals
- Before and after exercise
- Before bed
- When you feel sick or stressed
- If you think your blood sugar is too high, falling, or too low
- When changing medication
- If you have a change in your daily routine
